The condo was purchased by the District to provide a place where pastor's could go and take their families to enjoy time away at a reasonable cost. The DAB recently elected to make this facility available to laymen of the church as well as pastors. It is rented at $200 for one week begininning Monday afternoon through Sunday.

Dr. Duane Srader was elected District Superintendent of the Houston District in May 2000 and assumed responsibilities in June. In May of 2002 Duane was appointed as the District Superintendent of the San Antonio District and in 2003 the Houston and San Antonio Districts merged becoming the South Texas District.

Brian has served as a classroom teacher, coach, missionary, director of Compassionate Ministries, pastor, and in 2003 became the Assistant District Superintendent for the South Texas district.

Marty Goin - District Secretary

Marty is a mother, grandmother, Sunday School teacher, and member of Houston Living Word Church of the Nazarene. She and her husband Buddy hve been married 27 years.
Marty worked for ExxonMobil Corporation 30 years. She has her Doctor of Jurisprudence and is licensed as a Texas Attorney in good standing. They have 3 children and five grandchildren.

Bob served the San Antonio District as Treasurer from 1986 to 2003 when the San Antonio District merged with the Houston District. He has continued on as the Treasurer for the South Texas District.
He and his wife Marvis reside in Midland, Texas and have 3 sons.

Sam came to the South Texas District from the TOLD (Texas Oklahoma Latin District) in 2003 to serve as the District Missionary assisting in the establishment of New Start churches. Sam also serves as the senior pastor at Houston Southwest Church of the Nazarene. Sam and his wife Candy have four lovely daughters.

Bernadette served on the ministerial staff at Houston Spring Branch Church of the Nazarene, now Living Word, for eleven years. She has served at the District Office for five years. She has been on the Sunday and Discipleship Ministries International (SDMI) Board for 14 years and for the past 3 years has served at the SDMI Chair. Bernadette and her husband Steve attend Living Word Church of the Nazarene in Houston.
What to Report:
Sunday School Attendance - an organized group of people who meet:
1. Every week to study Biblcal principles
2. Use curriculum Approved by the local SDMI Board
3. Meet for at least 1/2 hour
Extended Ministries - an organized group of people who:
1. Do not meet every week but meet to study Biblical principles
2. Do not use approved curriculum
3. Do meet for 1/2 hour

District Children's Ministries Directors
Greg and Kendra currently serve as South Texas District Children's Ministries Directors. They have been members of Living Word Church of the Nazarene in Houston since 1994. Greg and Kendra have been married 18 years and have 2 children, Isaac and Sarah. They have served as classroom teachers, board members, SDMI committee members, children's council, Upwards coaches, VBS Director, and various other ministries.
District Men's Ministries sponsors two (2) events each year giving men across the the District an opportunity to get together with other men and their sons for a time to retreat to the outdoors for fun, food, and spiritual renewal.

Plans are being made for a District Tour just for Senior Adults with singer/songwriter Ric Gorden. Ric is an accomplished musician with a rare gift for composing songs that touch every generation in his audience. Ric's selection of music will inclue many of the traditional classical hymns, a mix of familiar South Gospel melodies, and some of the more contemorary songs we all hear each day.
One of Ric's more popular songs was "Ain't Got Time for You Devil."

This is a wonderful time for pastor's and spouses to get away and fellowship with each other and hear inspirational and motivational messages from a guest speaker. It is held the 3rd week of September (Tuesday - Thursday) at Camp Allen near Navasota, Texas.

Plan to get away from the city to the serene setting of the HEB Campground in February. This is a time for reflectoion and meeting with your peers to be encouraged and inspired while listening to the uplifting messages of a guest speaker. The retreat is held the 2nd or 3rd week in February.
